How do I pay for charging?

You can always start and pay for your charging easily with the OK app. The app allows you to pay with: OK Card, Dankort, Visa or MasterCard, MobilePay and ApplePay.

At selected locations, you can also pay for your charging with a payment card via a payment terminal.

Why is the vehicle charging so slowly?

Typically, you will get the fastest charge if there is less than 20 % power left on your vehicle’s battery and it is also warmed up for optimal charging. This is usual for the battery if you have been driving for about an hour or have the option of warming up the battery before charging.

In addition, the charging speed depends on two things: The charging power of the car and the maximum charging power of the charging station. Under optimal conditions, the vehicle is charged with maximum charging power up to around 70 % of the battery capacity, after which the charging speed tapers off. When the battery is 80 % charged, the charging speed drops significantly - this protects the battery against overcharging.

It also matters if one or two vehicles are connected to the charging station. For example, a 75 kW charging station alone will charge with 75 kW, but if there are two vehicles connected to the charging station, the vehicle on the right will get 50 kW and the vehicle on the left will get 25 kW.

There is a big difference between the charging curves of vehicles when vehicles are charged at maximum power and when the charging speed drops. There may also be a big difference in your vehicle’s charging curve in summer and winter due to the battery temperature when starting it up.

Where can I charge?

OK charging points are located close to traffic hubs. We are working hard to expand our charger network and update the map when new locations are added. Remember that you can also use the OK app to find the nearest OK charging station.
